CPSP and The National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC) Form Partnership to Expand CPE Opportunities

The College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy (CPSP) begins a new partnership with the National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC), recognizing CPSP's Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) units toward NACC certification. This partnership expands opportunities for both CPSP and NACC members and individuals discerning chaplaincy.

“CPSP’s partnership with NACC reflects a shared commitment to professional excellence in chaplaincy, rooted in mutual respect, ethical integrity, and the formation of caregivers grounded in both spiritual and clinical integrity, says Rev. Dr. Rachel Greiner, CPSP President. “This collaboration strengthens our collective voice in the field and affirms the value of rigorous clinical pastoral education shaped by collegial integrity and spiritual depth.”

Austine Duru, NACC Board President, adds, “NACC is delighted to welcome CPSP trained chaplains into the certification process. By doing so, we expand our tent to include diverse experiences and clinical training models that enrich the Catholic chaplaincy landscape.

“This inclusive posture strengthens our mission and strategy in response to the signs of the times, enhances collaboration in chaplaincy training, and ensures a wider pool of qualified chaplains serving in health care, correctional, and veteran ministry settings in the name of the Church.”

This new agreement affirms the quality and rigor of CPSP’s model while strengthening NACC’s commitment to support educated and certified Catholic chaplains and spiritual care professionals across health care and other diverse settings. By building on its strong tradition and embracing new partnerships, NACC continues to live out its mission of inclusive, faithful, and professional spiritual care for today and the future.
